Published in 1981, this book has an abundance of color and black and white photographs, including pictures of Jack Johnson and John P. Colby with a dog. Also pictured is Jack Dempsey with two dogs, and there are pictures of a classic match in the early forties. 349 pages.

This book was published in 1984, and it is coffee table size, with numerous black and white, as well as a plethora of color photos. This is the favorite book of many dog men because of its classy looks and size.

The format for this book is all color, and the paper is of top quality so that the photographs show to best advantage. This book was the third best selling breed book for 1994, and it has been translated into a German edition. (Only the English edition is sold by me, however.)

This book was an attempt to put together the pictures, and ancestry of the greatest pit dogs in the last century, along with information about their accomplishments. It has, apparently, become accepted as an authoritative guide for those interested in pit dogs. Soft cover.
